We are a very small well established site catering for caravans, motor homes and tents. The site offers the peace and quiet of a grown-ups only environment and is open end May to September.
We are nestled in the beautiful unspoilt Dordogne countryside and situated in the Parc Naturel Perigord-Limousin, some 7 kilometres from the town of Nontron.
Manzac Ferme is forest cloaked, on the river Bandiat, surrounded by lakes and deserted roads. It is a truly idyllic location.
Our unique site has been purposely designed to cater sympathetically and exclusively for the needs of adults so that visitors can enjoy the tranquil quiet surroundings by the calm river. We also welcome your four-legged companions.
We warmly invite you to share with us the sun-blessed countryside, filled with bird song and colourful butterflies busy pollinating the abundant flora.
In the day you’ll see plentiful wildlife, from birds of prey overhead to deer in the surrounding woodland. At night the clear black sky makes for fantastic star-gazing and a possible sighting of the International Space Station! Finally go off to sleep to the sound of owls.
There is plenty of opportunity to relax and re-charge the batteries. Leave the cares of the world behind, venture perhaps along the numerous unspoilt forest tracks on foot or cycle.
You may like to swim or try your hand at fishing on our own stretch of the river Bandiat, which forms a necklace around our site.

About Us
We (Frances and Dave) came to view Manzac Ferme and the lovely campsite on the River Bandiat in a window of travel that was allowed in August 2020 during the Covid crisis! We fell in love and came back again in October to sign papers and moved our lives here to this tranquil area of the North Dordogne on the 8th December 2020.
After our first successful season of 2021 we are now settled and more adjusted to our new way of life in France. Coming from busy 24/7 Southampton to the French countryside has been an interesting adventure so far, but one that we are enjoying very much, mistakes and all! We continue to explore our local area on foot, bike and car so that we can share our experiences with our visitors.
Frances taught Pilates for 20 years in the UK and together we led Nordic Walking groups in the New Forest. We do hope to be able to share some of these activities with future guests.
We are very much looking forward to meeting all the new and many repeat guests again to share the ‘peace and tranquillity’ of Manzac Ferme.

BerkshireHappyGirl5. August, 2024. This campsite is a must! This is the 4th time we have stayed at this campsite and it won’t be the last! The tent pitches are enormous and private amongst the trees. Frances and Dave have created some lovely seating areas around the site where you can swing in a hammock or sit on a bench or a lounger. It’s a lovely site and the wash room is really well kept and ample even when the site is full. We love cycling around the local area as the roads are made for it. Thank you Frances and dave for the warm welcome, the carrot cake was delicious! We will certainly see you again next year. angiep38931. July, 2024. Not for us. Ticks everywhere Sorry but it was not for us. We visited with our small dog. Far too many rules and restrictions for us. Found the owner very false. Not a lot going on round about. There were ticks everywhere even in our motor home. Every day our dog was full of them. He ended up at the vet with infection Gill M17. July, 2024. Beautiful site in the Dordogne We had a fantastic time here over the last 2 weeks. Frances and Dave the owners are really friendly and helpful and got us settled in. The site is peaceful and tranquil, you could only hear the birds singing! There are several walks on cards for people to do, we did 4! The washroom is spotlessly clean and there are things available to buy like wine and ice cream. Locally there is a pretty lake to walk round and the town of Nontron has plenty of supermarkets. Highly recommended for a stay in the Dordogne. Glenn L10. September, 2023. Best campsite in France Stayed at Manzac Ferme in August and was given a full tour of the campsite and beautiful grounds by Frances and Dave. We were then treated to a lovely slice of carrot cake. This has got to be the most peaceful and best campsite we have ever stayed on. The surrounding area was great for using our electric bikes, quiet rural countryside with a lovely lake to cycle to. We can't thank Frances and Dave enough for our lovely stay at their beautiful campsite and we were very sad when it was time to leave. Graham K9. August, 2023. Adults Only-It's Great Great welcome from Fran & Dave. We loved it last year so we came back. Splendid CL type site, gloriously child free, peace, quiet and tranquillity. Facilities are clean and well kept, 2 showers, 2 WC, wash up area, Water from a proper tap not one of those horrible press percussion taps that seem so common in France. Swimming in river, it's about 1.25 -1.50m deep, very refreshing; or lakes at St Estephe or St Saud, both have café type facilities. Shopping at Piegut Pluvier (do not miss the market) or Nontron. Good walks of varying distance immediately from site gate. Tourist places to visit. It's not as popular as down on the Dordogne river area but maybe it's better for that? Lilian U8. August, 2023. A wonderful, green and quiet campsite! We spent 5 wonderful days and nights at this campsite. After a warm welcome and a tour by the very friendly owners, we set up our tent in a beautiful spot. There are hammocks hanging by the river on the site, a rowing boat and chairs for peaceful viewing of the stars at night. The campsite is green and very quiet. The nights are quiet, sometimes you hear owls. The sanitary facilities are clean and tastefully decorated, including photos from past holidays. All in all, a campsite that you will definitely visit again! Wim and Lilian Steve M30. July, 2023. Ideal campsite for those looking for a tranquil place to explore the region. Wonderful site exclusively for adults so a lovely place to relax and enjoy as well as a perfect base to explore the local area. Well sized and spaced out pitches was ideal for our little Swift Basecamp caravan. David and Frances are great hosts and made all guests feel very welcome. Highly recommended. Katie C9. June, 2023. A restorative and relaxing place to stay This is a very special campsite. We felt that we were able to completely unwind in a wildlife haven, listening to the rich birdsong. We even heard a golden oriel (but didn't manage to see him/her due to the lush tree cover!). The pitches are well spaced out with secluded areas. Hammocks are provided for relaxation as well as a small boat for paddling down the river. Frances and Dave are kind and attentive and provide a very warm welcome. There is some local produce available on an honesty box basis and the shower rooms/toilets make you feel like a guest in someone's home rather than at a campsite! As a runner I loved exploring the quiet local forest trails - mapped routes were provided of different lengths so I didn't get lost! Also perfect for walking or cycling. I can't recommend this site highly enough. It is a wonderful place to unwind, a little off the beaten track Winnis7. June, 2023. Fantastic Friendly and Peaceful Campsite with Great Hosts. What a fantastic experience. If you like peace and quiet, good location to explore nature and the best campsite hosts ever then this is for you. Probably the most personal campsite hosting we’ve had. Frances and Dave are so friendly and full of l’iCal information and we look forward to returning. We were glad we stayed 3 days but certainly could have stayed longer, quite happily. Michael31. May, 2023.
In kurz: Top – würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen. – Z L, Germany
